We learnt from our flight going, only had on-board luggage. Combined with auto immigration gates, we were out of the terminal in 5mins. Stress free process is the best thing you can expect from an airport. Could not catch the bus to Awaji by 5mins, wish they had more buses or ferry.

Crowded due to end of year, could not use usual parking spot. Security wasn?t too bad. Lined up for KIX-ITM point card.

Easily my best airport, easy to get to, check-in/security are what other airports should try to emulate. Free wifi since 2005, landside food for an airport is fantastic, airside fine.
Lounge area plenty of toilets and water fountains.

Probably my huge luggage but they checked my luggage which made me feel not well. Very close to JR station. Got some troubles on finding Wi-Fi which is inconvenient.

Was going so late on that day so did not go around in the airport. Check-in counter are on 4/F which requires passengers a longer time to arrive. Terminal is huge so require more time to go to the gate.

Superb airport, free WiFi since 2005, clean toilets and water fountains.
Even huge queues at security are dealt with super quick.
Train station and hotel very easily accessed.
People looking for a shopping centre with an airport bolted on may be disappointed but those who want an airport to resemble an actual airport will be pleased.

My favourite airport, I've deplaned and got through immigration and customs in ten minutes.
This time it was about fifteen - you can spend that amount of time at MAN just getting through immigration.

Quite a mediocre airport. Felt a bit dull and not very well organised. Ceiling was low and made the airport feel very cramped. However, everything went smoothly and all the staff were very friendly.

Aircraft had a maintenance issue. JAL (Emirates handling agent) unloaded us and our baggage and dumped us in the arrivals hall at 5:00am. No information was provided nor advice - just left to get on with it.

Sparkling clean and well organised airport built on a man made island in the Bay of Osaka. Speedy passage through immigration followed by fast baggage re-claim.

I've used the airport before, But on this occasion, the experience was slightly spoiled by the long queues at the JR West Railway ticket offices. This was not the airport's fault and railway staff did a good job in managing the queues. So I waited in line for about 30 minutes.

The airport is well connected with Osaka and other Kansai region cities by excellent and reliable train services.

It used to be a masterpiece of modern architecture, but it's author, Renzo Piano, should never revisit the Kansai Airport. Instead of ample space to enjoy the views and architecture, the Japanese turned it into a luxury shopping mall squeezing inside as many Hermeses and Chanels as possible - no place to sit, no cafes, no broad space. A narrow, cramped, awful craze for big brands. The only plus is a Family Mart at the european flights end of concourse. Avoid, fly thru Haneda instead.

Very slow speed of immigration, both inbound and outbound. Lack of sufficient CIQ facilities made trips arriving/ departing from KIX a terrible nightmare. WiFi is not stable.

To far from the downtown,although it has rapid service between downtown and the airport.

But the terminal is really modern and beautiful,i can't believe that whole airport are building on an artificial island,that is really cool!

This is the further away airport of Osaka, base of Peach. The late night flight I arrived with was late as usual and outside of Terminal 2 about a hundred people for waiting for the inter-terminal shuttle buses in the freezing cold. There were 3 buses queueing all the time, but it took forever to load them. Thanks to Japanese blind following of all possible applicable rules and having no common sense or practicality, these buses were loaded one by one to the brim. Of course once the bus was almost full, people were unwilling to be squeezed like sardines and therefore the bus didn't start, since 80% or 90% full is just not good enough. Also even though there was plenty of space, the rest of the buses just waited empty for the first one to roll out. This resulted in everybody missing the trains, I managed to get on the last one, which meant already no connection from Osaka's Namba station. Think 10 times before flying to this Osaka airport with Peach (yay Terminal 2), especially late night, a taxi bill inside the city (never mind from the airport!!!) can easily compensate a cheap low-cost ticket to be equal to Shinkansen prices, without the comfort it allows.

Average transportation through the Kansai JR line which was overpacked. The airport is enormous, all shops/check in lines are organized parallel to the runways, meaning that if you need to buy cheap groceries at the Family Mart on 2F you need to walk at least 500m each way. The shops are overpriced and of average quality, custom checks are quick and efficient, the duty-free shops are entirely focusing on Chinese travellers. The food stores were closed at 9pm!!! The coffee pre-boarding was out of beer!!! Non-existing wifi for the travellers, none of our devices was able to connect.

Despite the long queue of immigration and custom check, the airport is easy accessible and spacious terminal with spacious departure gate. Airport facilities are at Japanese standards. Removed bay parking or aero bridge is not a problem for this airport.

In this airport, the design has a very big problem. The airport consists of a long-ended terminal, passenger that has to travel to the north or the south end needed to get on a train. The shops in the north or the south aren't enough. This causes the overall shopping experience decreased. The lounge in this airport, has lack of food and refreshments.

Used Terminal 2 this time round and it is worlds apart from the main terminal. Terminal 2 is almost exclusively used by LCC Peach and is as spartan as the LCC it hosts. Getting there required a complimentary bus ride from the main terminal's shopping mall near the JR station. Only a 7-Eleven and a couple of souvenir shops in the public side, and a few more after immigration. Adequate for the clientele it is serving I guess.

Kansai International Airport is relatively a new one in Japan, opened September 1994. The airport is located in a distant reclaimed island near the border of Osaka and Wakayama prefectures. The most convenient way to get access to the airport from Northern Osaka is to use the bus from Hotarugaike, ITM airport, and Umeda (takes 90 mins). While the international terminal of KIX is world-class, the domestic terminal of KIX is sub-optimal and does not have the fast lane gate. The airport lounges are considerably smaller than those of NRT, HND, or even ITM.
