Incredible airport, everything new. Very friendly with non-turkish speakers. Just a bit far away from city center (45km).
No free wifi avaiable.

This is the most amazing airport I've ever been to. I've flown out of the old airport in Istanbul. This one is GIGANTIC.

Just a stunning piece of architecture.

It is on the north side of Istanbul.
Not yet finely tuned. 25 minutes for the plane after taking off to park at terminal, and it is standard.
Walking from left to right for passport controls, then from right to left for luggage claim. At least it is very healthy, if you have light luggage with you.

New airport, very nice, but very dispersive.
25 minutes to park the plane after landing (And a lot of planes have similar problems).
Then, landing at the left of the terminal, passport control at the right, baggage claim at the lft of the terminal. Pratically it is very healthy if you like to walk, and you dont have heavy bags.

There are no smoking areas except outside on the terrace which is not acceptable. There should be smoking areas inside and nearby, not having to cross a vast distance to reach them

Only 1 hour Wi-Fi per 24 hours.
Impossible use at evening and then at morning when you have a connection flight.
And any case 1 hour is to few.

Connected in Istanbul to Athens on Turkish airlines. The new airport is beautiful and the Turkish airlines business class lounge is very impressive. This is a world class lounge worth spending time in

The airport has only 1 hour free wifi after that you cannot even buy.The staff at TK Business lounge is rude.

long lines in passport and security check when transferring from a domestic flight arriving at a bus gate to a international flight.

Other than that, super nice airport, easy to know where to go and friendly staff.

Not the best transferring flow when arriving on a bus gate connection from a domestic flight to an international flight with Turkish Airlines. Long lines in both passport/immigration and security check.

Other than that easy airport to find where to go and we?re modern and fresh. Friendly personal and highly recommend the buggy service within the international terminal due to long distances.

The immigration officer keep ask me a political question which I don't like this kind of act! most of the staff are rood and unprofessional at all. Except for SAUDIA counter was smiley and friendly who give me a best seat during the return flight.

Flight was delayed 2.5h, thus had to spend 7h there, and for a new airport, the experience was really awful. In addition to that, support from Turkish Airlines was minimal as they couldn't help in getting wifi to me or anyone else (90% of people were going to the help desk to get wifi) and only gave a burger king food coupon in response to the delay.

The airport is new and looks nice but everyone around was struggling with wifi access. In addition to that, most staff I encountered in the airport was 0% welcoming.

In any case, better than the old Ataturk Airport, which was overcrowded and was not suitable for the current air traffic. But still work is going on and the other Terminals are under construction.

Der Flughafen ist sehr schon und sehr modern. Da der Flughafen nicht richtig gebaut wurde platzen immer wieder Rohre was dazu gefuhrt hat das der Flughafen nach einer Kanalisation roch. Dazu sind die Cafes usw. im Flughafen extrem teuer.

A brand new airport equipped with all the the technologies, security check is great, check in counters should have more check-in employees on it as sometime people cue in lines if the flight has many travelers. Only negative side is the the airport is huge and there isn't enough escalators because not everyone is capable of walking a lot as the walking to your gate can be up to 3KM.

Great new airport, what you can expect from a mega hub. Getting to/from the airport is incredibily easy from various parts of the city, the turkish government really invested on this.

Great new airport, very spacious excellent facilities. It's really BIG and that's the problem.
The designers did not bear in mind that many people are not that fit on foot.
There should have been a skyline or tunneline train like eg FRA, DFW, SEA or LHR-Terminals.
WiFi ist overly complicated: If you're in a hurry you don't have time for this process but you will miss important information on your airline-app. Needs improvement.
I didn't have time to visit the lounge due to the extreme walking distances. One single central lounge doesn't seem like a great idea either.

Uh... It wasn't as bad as the opinions on the Internet were saying (3/10!), but the triple control (exit/entrance/before flight baggage control) is very annoying. As same as transportation and a problematic wi-fi connection, especially with the ones who don't have Turkish numbers... The biggest doesn't always mean the best...

I have been first flight from Izmir to New Istanbul Airport. ISL Airport so big. Honestly I ve never seen such a this Airport in my life. after the exit runway we had a long taxi way aroung 15 minutes to the gate.

Not fully opened yet, it took too long to reach to airport and you have to go via toll road. Also from entry to the gate it is a long long way. Most of the shops are not opened yet, only four cafes at domestic terminal
