This is probably one of the worst airports I have been to. Long lines at both check-in and security as well as they forgot to put our flight as delayed on the information board (how could that even happen?). Some of us actually thought we had missed our flight when the gate hadn't showed up and it was departure time. On the contrary, a lot of flights were delayed this day causing major disruptions but this cannot still forgive that our flight wasn't showing the delay and gate on the board

Great small airport, not the most modern looking however it shows how you don't have to the most modern flashy architecture to have a good airport. Very easy to get to with a train station onsite and a short walk away with trains that take 7 mins to Geneva. Lots of restaurants and cafes and friendly staff that does an efficient job.

Quelques parties sont relativement anciennes et necessitent une remise a niveau (notamment les WC). Controles tres fluides et faciles. Il manque peut-etre une chaine de fast food (Mc Donald's) au dela de la zone de controle car une fois dans l'aire d'attente, le choix est tres limite et cher.

The AirFrance lounge on the French sector was absolutely fantastic. The best lounge in Geneva. However the rest of the airport is really bad. They even have to take a bus to the plane, and the plane was an A319. Geneva needs to grow in order to accommodate. If you are traveling on AF, and in business, you are in luck. Otherwise, avoid it

There is no facilities for mother and fathers with babies. No changing tables to change babies and children nappies not in the women nor men toilets. No entertainment for children at all. This conditions make the experience even more difficult that already is. Also special mothers/fathers with babies exclusive sitting should be added in the lounge and gates areas.

Worst airport in Europe. Huge check in queues, huge security queues, grotty airport, staff prioritised business passengers baggage leaving thousands of bags at Geneva which took weeks to be delivered to everyone, poor service, will never fly here again

Getting from the French sector to the Swiss sector is a real pain if you've got lots of luggage. The airport needs to update its lifts and install some more as the current lifts can only accommodate one person and a trolly at a time. Food offerings are limited and incredibly expensive.

Absolutely appalling crowd management and an embarrassment to visitors. Security line stretched to both ends of the terminal with no additional lanes opened for operation, then a further 20 min waiting in line for border control. Many flights were delayed while waiting for groups of passengers to get through. Airlines should advise an earlier arrival time at the very least, 1 hour is not enough to make your flight.

On the days that I transited this airport it was overcrowded, the checkin process was inefficient, the terminal air-conditioning was almost non-existent as it was so hot and the departure area is jam packed with overpriced luxury goods stores and limited food outlets serving up slices of pizza for CHF10.

This airport is in dire need of an overhaul, and that doesn't mean adding more luxury goods shops that few people can afford.

Getting to the airport via rental car is a burden due to shuttle bus from parking to terminal. Check-in queue was relatively short, but took a long time compared to the airline's hub Helsinki Airport.
Security check was quick and friendly. Terminal facilities as in toilets etc. are great, but corridors are too narrow and there's a feeling of congestion in the air.
WiFi is fast enough, but registration is difficult and requires you to walk to a ticket machine. Only 90 minutes free. Restaurants and cafes are VERY expensive.

No public transport to the airport before 5am, which is a pain for early flights. Also, coffee shops etc. only open from 5am. If you are flying on an early morning flight, there is no need to arrive at the airport early, gates are not announced until 4.45am-5am and security queues are short. Security doesn't open until 4.30am, so definitely don't arrive before.

Overall, a very nice airport! Flights to or from the UK usually depart from a seperate section which means you have to show your passport again and go through an underground passage to get to the area. There is only one small shop there.

It didn't give me the impression to be a very large airport, but it is very organized and quiet calm.
It's very close to the city (just 4 km). NOTE: when you land here, BEFORE going out of the flight zone to the airport there's a machine that gives you FREE tickets to travel with the train from the airport to the city AND in the city itself with trams and bus! The only drawback is that it lasts 80 minutes from the moment you pick the tickets from the machine.

I found finding the train tracks a bit far from the airport, but you can also do it with a cart you can leave just before going down the tracks.

The flight arrived, disembarked the plane which took no time at all, had to find the customs to go through the french side of airport as i was to pick up a hire car and drive to chamonix...i felt as if i had to walk the whole airport to find the desk where i was to pick up my hire car.

There seems to be a lack of seats in the sitting areas or lounges. Most people sit their luggage on the sits, this should have been planned. Perhaps there could be more spaces between seats or just more sits. Also, Switzerland is expensive as it is, should show some consideration and have drinking fountains near all the toilets, and in those far away terminal gates. Never the less the airport is quite nice, and is fantastic that they give free transport tickets to get home. Thanks!

Relatively small airport, generally well-managed. Gets overcrowded on Saturdays and to a lesser extent Sundays during the ski season. Otherwise rare to find long lines.
Reasonable selection of eateries both landside (two or three in the railway station) and airside. Not particularly cheap, but also not overpriced compared with Geneva prices generally.
Need to be aware of the geography of the airport, with three areas: Schengen, non-Schengen and France. Moving between these areas may require passport and/or customs checks.
If renting cars on the French side, be aware that although cheaper, they are mostly not winterized, don't include a Swiss motorway vignette and driving through Geneva during the rush-hour is not fun.
Excellent public transport to the airport and a free transport pass is available in the luggage collection area, just before customs, valid for free transport in Geneva for 80 minutes. Also hotels in Geneva give a free transport pass, valid during the stay. No public transport on the French side.
Free wifi (for 1 hour) throughout the airport. You need a mobile phone to receive an SMS code.
Bagage claim usually fairly quick. Have never waited more than 15 minutes.

I am using this airport sonce 1973. Yet it is very easy to be connected with the public transportationlines 5, 10, etc.
Not far away from the city ...
Food id relatively good, but not to be compared with the city restaurants.
The today arrangements is near to perfect, except too many shops with out of reason prices.
If you have the connection with France flights, don't be afraid... the ground connection inside the airport is from another age... DON'T BE AFRAID !

Love Geneva Airport. Too and from the city on the buses which leave above the train station. Takes about 15/20 mins. The departure lounge is big and spacious, great place to watch the planes. Lots of restaurant or food choices. Loads of shops and lots to do. Great for walking around if you have a couple of hours or so on a transit. Long walk too and from the aircraft if you park on a satellite or need to get a bus.

Excellent airport. They even allow Swiss knives purchased after the security check in carry-on, if you have direct flight without stopovers. Smoking lounge is spacious and well ventilated. Prices in vending machines are slightly wack, but, well... it's international airport and it's Switzerland. Actually, it's Switzerland is the best description of Cointrin (and Zurich-Kloten as well). Everything is as smooth as possible in today's paranoid aviation world.

This airport has not much place to seat or not at all not counting the restaurants. Quite uncomfortable, one has the choice of standing around or pay to sit down in a restaurant, which is a bit ridiculous. The food and services and not well signalized, so is not easy to find them, and if in a rush one just does see them. The same with ATMs and Post Finance Cash machines, there is no map showing where they are.

Not up to swiss standarts- Confusing signage. The seats in the waiting area are extremely uncomfortable. Hard, without electricity outlets, covered in artificial leather and with fixed armrests, so that one can't lie flat. The only good thing is the proximity to the city
