Getting worse for customer experience. Unable to deal with out of course arrivals, waiting an unacceptable time for guidance to be switched on, steps to be connected, baggage unloaded, etc.
The terminal facilities are worse, and the staff are brusque at best, downright rude at times.

Never used the lounge but as far as i could tell there was only 2 lounges at the time of visit. Wifi you get 1 hour free then paying. Security was easy to get through and public transport to and from the airport is very good

Edinburgh is a very busy airport but is easy to get to. The Wifi was poor and unusable at times but the choice of food outlets was really good.

One of the poorest organized airports I've seen. There are insufficient signs to direct you toward anything (check in, security, etc). The airport is filthy!

The seating is a bit uncomfy, it is just wooden seats. I have only flown domestic from this airport so can't comment on immigration

Can't comment on lounges or Immigration as I very rarely use these. Food options are plentiful, but expensive (given that it is an airport and they know you are pretty much stuck once you are past security)

The access to the airport is still stuck in the 1970's however. Roads aren't in a great condition at all (I laugh when I see the sign saying drive on the left of the road - it's more like drive on what's left of the road!) and are in no way able to cope with the amount of traffic that is now arriving at the airport on a daily basis. Buses are still the best way to get there, especially from Fife (north side of the Forth) as they drop you right outside one of the doors into the main terminal.

They need to do something about baggage reclaim as well. Whilst I have never experienced more than a 10 or 15 minute delay in getting my bags, it is a free for all and you are left wondering which baggage belt to go to as there are no screens at Domestic Arrivals to tell you which belt to go to (essentially because you are spat out into the Jet2 Check-in area!)

Horrible airport and service. It was absolutely freezing inside,people were waiting for four hours delayed flight in coats,scars and hats!!! Disrespectful.

Bus stop was right in front of the hotel, double-decker, cheap and quick, bus at every 10mins even late night hours.
Marti from EDI gave us fast pass for security, very helpful since line was long even at 6am.

Ridiculously slow and disorganised at the gates and an awful layout from getting to the airport to actually getting on a plane! Not to mention toilets that weren't brilliant, or the small signage which should have been far clearer!

Absolutely chaotic baggage claim. People standing 3 deep around all the domestic arrival baggage claim belts. Quick delivery but the crowds of people make it an unpleasant experience. Getting away from the airport also tends to be gridlocked by vehicles. The infrastructure for this airport cannot cope with the number of passengers.

Poor wifi two hours free ,charge applies after that friendly staff security was quick and efficient airport can get crowded easy to get to/from airport frequent bus/tram service

It was kind of confusing because we have different airport in Slovakia and I've never seen an airport like this, it was very strict if you had heavier baggage but the system was probably easier for the staff.

Having an outstanding variety of Whiskey in perhaps the biggest duty-free Whiskey-Shop in an airport area, the Edinburgh airport provides good services for food and retail and has a more than sufficient infrastructure.

Again another favorable experince of Edinburgh Airport, this time however i was flying early evening (1630 departure), and i was quite surprised to see only 5 security lanes open, with queing from the boarding check gates. Nevertheless 15mins, and a fairly stony faced set of security people later, i was through, and into where the airport excels. Air side. A truly fantastic range of retail outlets to pass even the longest of waits. I recommend seating yourself between gates 10-11 for fantastic views of the main taxiway and runway, if you like watching aircraft movements. The glass (was) clean, so photographs are even possible!

What an amazing airport! Through security in minutes. After security the shops and restaurants are very nice and plentiful with a wide variety of choice with cheap prices. Terminal facilities (toilets etc) were very modern, clean and there was no ques!

Very clean looking airport, with the at gate seating looking to the runway, great way to pass the time waiting for your flight. Security was fast and friendly, and plenty of people around to assist.

I didnt use any of the lounges so no review on them, and appeared to be plenty of food and drink places around to get whatever you may need.

First trip inside the terminal and indeed since December 2008, very nice place. Friendly security and gate crew, reasonable range of food/drink outlets too. Be warned nicotine fans, no smoking area!

I used to like Edinburgh airport - good facilities, ramp views and comfortable cafes kept me happy. However, in my most recent visit I was dismayed to discover the utter shambles which is security in the new 'EAST' extension. It's slow, badly laid out, and looks like a shed from the inside. Oh, and the free wifi is a hideous affair... You must fill out a completely excessively long form before being allowed access to the network. Much prefer Glasgow now. The self service check in wasn't bad right enough.

Security was slow,was a Saturday afternoon,and big queues,after getting through that all was ok,not that many food places,only 1 pub,but still a nice airport,and easy top get to by bus or tram,I prefer the bus,its far better than the tram,

Great airport! Security was quick and efficient. There was a great choice of shops and restaurants before and after security and the check-in process was very easy and quick. The staff were very pleasant and were eager to help. There was free WIFI and getting to the airport was easy - as was finding a parking space.

Good links to the city centre. Terminal has basic facilities with a small amount of shops and restaurants and needs modernised to keep up with other UK airports. Only 30 mins of free wifi which is lagging behind other UK airports. The wait at security, baggage reclaim and immigration were very very long waiting almost an hour at each in early June even before the busy holiday rush. Otherwise a good airport but needs some major improvements!

Avoid where possible. Security is simply awful and desperately needs improved. Departures is a very small and confined area and feels like one long corridor. Shops are adequate. At least they have a nice logo and an impressive control tower.

Very clean, correct size, luminous and pleasant looking (especially the control tower) !

Nice spacious airport with good facilities, very clean, friendly staff. Airlink bus are amazing, very spacious and quick (WiFi available on board). The airport is not far from the center, only 30 min by bus.

excellent airport. i went on a short city hop to Amsterdam. i think that Edinburgh airport could change a little to do more domestic flights because ther is only 15-20 a day. rather than that the airport is really nice and quiet around term time for kids.

If you ever felt you were a sheep or cattle being transported to the market the (joking tongue in cheek) seat less bus from where the aircraft parked to the terminal building you could also think you were prisoners as there were official looking blokes with firearms in hand hoarding us onto this bus.It was rather humorous if you looked at it that way but I guess it was functional for the style of airport that Edinburgh has.I couldn't see any alterations or improvements going on while I was there but this was back in August 2013.Transport to the City was fine once you sorted out which bus was going where.I am unable to rate the facilities at this airport as I didn't use any of them and the journey into the city was excellent .

It's a decent, fairly big airport. Land side and the check in areas are old now, low roof, very 90's however the refurbished air side departure lounge is great. Very large, nice a spacious and well sign posted. Friendly staff and lots to do. There are lots of shops and cafes throughout, even by the furthest gates. Gates are slightly confusing as there is the gate sign and a small seating area, but no where to block it off from the main terminal where other passengers are. immigration took a little while, maybe because it was busy but it seemed to be very un-organised with staff all over. Airlink bus takes you straight to the city centre in 35 minutes for ?4 or ?7 return.

Edinburgh Airport was very busy, due to the fact of the festival. Waited about 30 minutes in the security area. Apart from that very good experience. As any airport very experience, great access to/from the city centre.

Good shops inside, but as every airport, very expensive. Great view of the airfield and very well sign posted.

Great wireless internet speed, shame about the 2 hour limit.

Really smooth process going through Edinburgh Airport. Arrived there at 0500 and was through security by 0510. Went to get a coffee at the Costa Coffee with friendly staff. Got on the plane with no problems what so ever. Edinburgh is definitely my favourite airport in Europe.

Edinburgh Airport doesn't even compare to airports such as Glasgow, Aberdeen and Newcastle etc, it has shorter queue times, nicer and more helpful staff and more/nicer facilities (toilets, restaurants and lounges etc). After security there is loads to do such as eat, shop or even a soft play area to name a few. There is plenty signs to guide you round if you don't know your way. Overall a brilliant airport!

This airport has improved greatly over the years,been using it for many years now,it is now one of the best in the world,great shopping,easy access to security and on to your flight,could do with another pub though,but still a fab airport,the 100 bus to edinburgh is great value if booked and paid in advance,but now the trams are here,so will see in July when i go next.

airport is lovely and great improvement since the last visit. 10 mins to check ona nd throug security and in the lounge! Used the new No1 Lounge which is brilliant well done for allowing this to be opened at Edinburgh.

Will be graet to see the airport when the expansion work has been completed

If parking at the airport (prepaid) make sure you do not take the wrong exit at the roundabout and go via the drop-off section as you will be charged an extra ?1 for the privilege. Upon arrival at international arrivals, if you have the chip on your passport, head for the automated entry machines for expedited immigration.

I am a frequent traveller from Edinburgh and I should admit that the Security Staff at the Secruity Check are THE BEST in the world. They are very friendly, polite and very active in getting the queue reduced. The idea of 3 persons offload their things simultaneously is a brilliant idea. Schiphol should learn from them.. Kudos to you guys at the Security Check in EDI.

No train into the city center, so you have to get the Bus, but that takes 30+mins, therefore if your late or you have a connecting train to catch, you've got to dig deep into your wallet/purse for a Taxi.

If your traveling during rush your, make sure you get a taxi that can use the Bus lanes as traffic is fairly significant.

Waited 45mins for luggage, which arrived completely soaked!! Unacceptable! Security was very inefficient and slow. Very disappointing experience for the supposedly 'best' airport in Scotland...

RYANAIR NEVER CHECKS CABIN BAGGAGE WEIGHT HERE!
Like it: plenty of shops and cafes/restaurants, easy to find everything. At the moment it is my home airport.
