Public transport is not really an option to travel to or from Hamad International Airport, but Uber is widely available in Qatar are not expensive by Western standards. Airport staff force you to have a printed boarding pass before entering the security area and do not want to let you in until departure-3 hours, which was annoying and I had to speak to a supervisor before letting me in earlier to use the lounge. The Qatar Al Mourjan lounge does not have it's own WiFi and uses the public terminal WiFi which is slow. I was there at ~2am, most of the retail outlets were closed. The Al Mourjan lounge is open 24 hours, is very sizeable and had great food options. Quiet sleeping areas and showers were available with little wait

Check-in / bag drop in Doha is amazingly bad. It's a beautiful airport, but is not well organized. The lack of queues, issues with computerized systems, and sometimes lack of staff (relative to volume of passengers) definitely ruin an otherwise nice facility.

Nice terminal but I alwsays have troubles with the free-wife.
And although I purchased an upgrade to business class Qater does not let you access their lounge.

they lost my tripod at the schiphol airport Amsterdam, and so far I am yet to get any form of communication from them. that was a bummer. other than that it was amazing.

I cannot see the sense in going through security on arrival when in transit, and then AGAIN prior to boarding. What could I have done between the two? Ludicrous and a waste of time.

Great airport, especially at the time we arrived, when there was little activity. Our layover lasted for 8 hours, so we slept in one of those little ?quiet rooms? dotted around the terminal. Most of the shops were closed though.

I have been through Hammad International many times and definitely one of the most extravagant airports currently. This also makes it a stand out. It is a large airport so be prepared for some lengthy walking or travellating on the moving walkways, or commuting using the automated train from gate area to gate area. Great range of shops, amenities, lounges etc and attention to detail. Each public toilet block in the airport for example has its own usher, ready to help show you to a cubicle and offer hand towel etc. The only down sides for me can be the transit process if you are connecting, it can get very very busy as they make you do a full security check again. Also the WiFi is not the best and can cut in and out and make you sign back in regularly. Aside from that, hard to fault.

My experience in Doha airport was honestly great, as it offers a lot. I had a layover there for 3 hours from another flight. Getting in the airport was one of the most seamless parts of my journey, which was the security check. Security check was pretty speedy considering there were many people at the security check that time. I still had lots of time left before my flight. Terminal facilities were sufficient enough for me to enjoy my layover at the airport. I didn't eat much at the airport, not to say I didn't like the food services, but I wasn't really hungry. Overall, a pretty good layover and stay at the airport

Doha Airport offers a lot of luxuries, and it is one of the best airports I've ever been to, I mean, I am highly compelled to experience another layover at this airport. I had a layover between this flight, and another one to Singapore.

Someone stole my eyeglasses in one of the common areas. As soon as I discovered it, I contacted the airport (indicating the exact place and one-hour time period during which the theft took place) but nobody gave me a proper answer, despite numerous reminders. Looks like their surveillance cameras are nothing more than an element of decoration. I'll try to limit flying through HIA to the minimum (or ideally to avoid it whatsoever).

Doha is one of those airports where transfer passengers need to go through a security check. Which is a practice I don't understand as the passengers have already gone through a security check at the airport they're coming from. Otherwise a very modern airport with a shuttle train connecting different gate areas. One of the most expensive cups of coffee I've had at an airport, though.

Fancy looking airport, but behind the glitter there is not too much. Worst, WiFi is essentially unusable (tried several times during two transfers). Swimming pool, supposedly one of the highlights, costs a whopping 50 USD per person. Extra security check during transfer, when arriving from an excellent airport (KUL) is an unnecessary additional hassle.

No working drinking water fountains. Very few flights are listed on the big screens which makes it hard to see which gate the flight is during busy times of the day. The only way to see a the gate was queueing for the info desk. They should have smaller font or less spacing between the lines. So many screens and they can't fit the flights between 7 and 9 am.

Getting from/to the airport was so-so to me, as there was no decent public transport (buses exist, but there's no special airport train/metro to the city yet).

Wifi during busy hours for transfer passengers (around midnight) was utterly terrible, I couldn't even send a single message to my family or friends, not even mentioning any call or photo. It was better during 8-9 am, when the airport was completely empty.

Immigration : you need to prepare yourself for at least 20, 30 minutes of waiting as the queue can be really long. The passport control for departing passengers is faster though.

The staff at the security check were extremely rude.
The 'gentlemen' saw some coins in my bag and started shout very loudly for security then he pushed the tray with my laptop to me, he did not care if it is fragile or not. They were talking to me in a very impolite way, keep asking to 'show your coins, show your coins!' If I asked something he ignored me then since I showed them all the coins from my bag, they just sent me away without saying anything. I fould it really unproffessional.

This airport is simply terrifying. It should be modern, spacious, perfect..it is non of it. Unclear, with low ceilings, lot of useless shops which has prices 20-40% higher than in Europe or US. And the First Class lounge for other airlines than QR is just a joke. Small, noisy, stinky, with bad food and almost no drinks..

Getting around the airport is quite fast to get connections. Wifi works practically everywhere. The lounges are alright but were very full and the food wasn't very good as there were only snacks but no meals.

Clean, efficient and good airport. The Qatar lounges are both very nice and there are many nice shops with a wide variety of items. Just the WIFI is very slow and unstable.

Hamad airport is beautiful and one of the best in the middle east region. The airport is very clean and there are many activities to do while transit. Wifi is free but slow in some places

At peak times security staff is not enough to proccess all the connecting passengers in a timely manner, even if you go throught he fast-track. Avoid short connections in Doha in order not to have to run from one side of the airport to the other to be able to catch your filght.
Also, the Wi-Fi exists, but is very slow.

When travelling with Qatar Airways and being sapphire with oneworld you don't get access to the Qatar Business lounge (3rd floor) but the lower grade partner airlines lounge on second floor. One of the worst lounges I have experienced so far. It is very crowded and the food is absolutely terrible.

Haphazard security checks even with fast track. Saw someone's electric kettle(!) being confiscated as it could be used as a weapon. And then ... didn't have any issue with a bottle of water.

New terminal much better than the old one. At least now you park at a gate rather than be off stand parking and involves the not so fun bus journey to the aircraft. Only down side if you are parked at a far gate then it is a goo 10-15minute walk to immigration.

Very good, free and unlimited wifi coverage throughout the whole airport. Overall a very nice and modern airport, many shops and multiple food choices.
Business Lounge was very nice with a good selection of foods and beverages, but it was a little overcrowded.

Lot of people passing from the airport, but everything is working smoothly! Perfect facilities with airport personnel ready to assist you in anything. The only negative is to get to the airport. Although is near to the city the only option is to get a taxi, which is very cheap, so no problem. Recommended!!!

Very beautiful new terminal, great shopping facilities and a nice and small food court. The queues at the securty check for connection-flights was too long and the Wifi was very slow and sometimes not reachable, but overall quite nice!

This was in 2008, the old Doha Airport. It was a weird experience, somewhat on the lines of the movie 'The Terminal'. Had sub-par facilities and basically nothing for travelers with long layovers. I was at the airport for about 22 hours and the airline did not offer food or access to the lounge.

I just had a quick layover in Doha so I didn't get to see much of the new airport. Although what I did see looked very nice, clean and showed no signs of aging. A part of it was still under construction although it didn't really affect us in any way. I had a pleasant layover and would transfer through there again if I had the chance.

The airport is amazing, everything perfect, except the fact that since it is so big, if you have to go from one side to the other for a transfer, you have to walk really a lot and have to add additional time only for that. There are moving walkways which can speed you up, but they don't cover the whole distance. I have seen a very modern self-driving train inside, but it was apparently not yet in service, as all the seats were still covered with plastic bags.

Sleeping room in Doha airport is like a fridge!!!
30C degrees outside, 10C inside..you cannot sleep in a jacket and jeans, because it is freezingly cold..what???
Wifi is slow.
At least sockets is ok. everywhere.
Special beeping car for VIP guests is irritating. even here people layering.

The central area where the lounges and shops are has the air of a stylish and modern 5 star hotel. Transfer process smooth and efficient. But one has to walk all the way into the central area to transfer and then all the way out again - there aren't transfer areas along the concourse (as there are in Dubai). So it makes for a rather long walk if you happen to arrive/depart at the further gates. But a vast improvement on the old bus terminal that was the previous Doha airport! And a far more sophisticated ambience to Dubai.

The areport has all the indications that you need, and the flights are ponctuel.

All was fine, it was the second Time that
I flew with Qatar and this time I found it excellent. The staff was very polite. Last time it wasn't so good like this time. Now the staff makes fun with my child. Also the new airport is fantastic, seems like one of the best in the world.

Despite being the home of Qatar Airways a 5 Star Airline, it's only a two star airport. I visited the QR business lounge which was unimpressive. The staff are over bearing, I was asked 4 times in 5 minutes if I wanted a drink

Wifi is probably the fastest I've encountered on an airport. Also all free, no sign up required and no limitation in data or time.
One annoying thing with the airport are those two huge screens that gets so bright if makes you go blind.
