The check in, which should have been automatic was dreadful. A staff member was slowing people down, by unnecessarily checking passports and boarding cards. Security was a nightmare with severe delays. The security staff appeared to be on a go-slow.

Security takes ages so leave extra time. Very slow despite passengers 'doing as they're told.' Access to airport scored 3 due to the M42 being a bit 'hit and miss.'

Swissport the Ground Handler were at their useless worst , they couldn't manage to secure a pet in the hold and we took a long delay (40 mins I guess) because of their ineptitude. In the end the Captain went into the hold to fix the issue himself. No idea how many customers missed connections.

As I live in Birmingham, the getting to the airport is easy as the connecting rail link is superb! Just go to Birmingham International Rail Station and get the free train to the airport!

They made me feel like a criminal during the security check. I was flying out only for 1 night and so I had just a small backpack with me. Apparently, this made me look suspicious. The security personnel rummaged through my personal items, claiming they were looking for a deo-stick. Then they searched my backpack once more, digging out my plastic hair brush triumphantly, claiming it was the reason the bag was quarantined for the second time. What a non-sense. I've passed the security check with these items on more than 100 flights, including a few departing from BHX airport, and never had a problem. Nevertheless, they finally let me pass after they kept me waiting for 20 minutes, which felt like eternity.

Always massive queues at immigration. Apparently no staffing response to peak times. Users also dopey with the new technology which doesn't help. They've improved speed of baggage return but it was sprayed around the carousel and a lot fell off it from my flight. It looked like a riot had taken place when we arrived in the reclaim area.
