The only problem at BKK is the sheer limited number of immigration counters. And if the flight arrives at late night hours or early morning hours, it will be terribly crowded. Takes a while to get through immigration.

I used fast track service that I highly recommend and will always pay the extra to bypass the queues through customs, I was met by a guide who took me through the fast lane and straight to immigration, and I was the only one at this counter, from there I went straight to the luggage conveyer where I collected my luggage and was the first out of the airport. The staff were very friendly, and I look forward to using this service on my next trip to Bangkok.

This was my first departure from Suvarnabhumi Airport, It was a very busy airport and was very easy to navigate through customs and immigration quickly. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport is excellent. With the priority access which we had thanks to our business class ticket, everything was almost seamless. However, the lounge which Malaysia Airlines provided for its regional business class passengers was terrible. Bearing the name Miracle Lounge, it was indeed a miracle to see how messy the lounge was. It was very difficult to find seats as there were many lounge patrons who occupied multiple seats for sleeping (the lounge doesn't seem to have napping room/beds), and many of them just left their belongings scattered all over the place. Simply put, the quality of the lounge was far below Malaysia Airlines' standard as portrayed in their Regional Golden Lounge at KL International Airport, or even the other non-dedicated lounge like the one in Jakarta airport.

This is an airport with potential, but needs still quite some advancement in its airside life, to make it much more attractive. At least WiFi is decent, although it might be not easy to connect. Some networks require OTP via SMS, where SMS never comes.... These antiquated systems definitely need to be upgraded.
Another bug that nerves me always when in transit there is you disembark a flight after 10 hrs flying going for connection flight, and are forced to undergo another security scrutiny even with shoe removal, never mind you just came out of a flight.

Very beautiful and unique airport, but transferring can be hard because of how large it is. Sometime AC is on but a lot of the time its not. Overall a positive experience!

Getting to the airport is really well (45 baht only by special train).

Wifi is free and quick enough to even have a call.

Food had reasonable prices for the airport and was tasty.

Immigration was quick and well done, passport control before departing was much longer and problematic as I needed to find some Immigration Card, which I've filled on first day in Thailand and forgot about keeping it near myself.

Airport is well signed, you can easily find a way to place you want, like departure/taxi etc.

Only reason I drop a star is disabled passenger needs to walk too far before accessing a wheelchair. For those who cannot walk at all I feel sorry for them.

The extra security at the gate is annoying, as was boarding at a remote gate (I can understand LCC airlines doing this, but not Thai).
Had a disabled member of our party who was told to wait by Thai staff until a wheelchair became available. After 30 minutes of a no show, member had to walk to gate (slow and painful exercise). Thai Airways was very slack with disabled passengers at VTBS.

Check-in queues can be very long. Staff are generally aggressive and unfriendly. Duty free is very expensive and the airport is very overcrowded.

I've been using the airport since opening in 2006.. Many flights now... It's okay... That's about it, they didn't future proof it that well. Immigration zone is a shambles, could be more food and beverage options, everything way overpriced.. Europe prices? Get Real you're a 3rd world country don't give me any of this developing or 2nd world BS.
Important - Never ever drink the water fountains at BKK Airport I got Cholera from one fountain in 2010... Why? Because it's a 3rd world squaller!

An excellent airport. Getting to the airport is easy by bus, taxi or train. Checkin was done quite rapidly, however security checks are taking quite a time. Facilities and shops are up to standard nd wifi is strong.

Arrival late on a Saturday night. Put on a bus - Yet Again! Awfully packed bus, struggling aircon appalling. Then the interminable walk to the immigration and a wait of 90 minutes as so many Chinese in group tours clog the immigration lines. OK it meant that my luggage was already waiting for me but-----------90 minutes, no seating, no consideration for the tired passengers who may have travelled for 24 hours plus. Bad Marks BKK. Getting a taxi fine, but walking 200 metres with luggage to get a ticket from a machine and then walking 300 metres to get to the taxi not a good experience. Connecting to Wi-Fi - aweful. I gave up.

Hard to get around and expensive. The toilets are dirty. Lots of scammers lurking that are allowed by Thai authorities saying attractions are closed etc, or trying to get you to take a taxi without the meter. Certain areas of the airport are unexplainably cut off to foreigners like the arrivals, and taxi area if you arrive in the departures and want to access the arrivals downstairs. There is a food court they block off so foreigners pay the higher prices for restaurants. Crazy prices for souveneirs and drinks, food etc that rival some western prices.

Usually I take a taxi to the airport from Central Bangkok. Cost about 350 Baht. Check-in can vary according to time of day. Business Class (Royal Silk) very good and straight forward. You are fast tracked immediately to security (no hassle) then to immigration, again in the fast track it is smooth. A walk out of immigration down the escalator and into the lounge. Now there is a problem. Plenty of space. The bar (if a drink is required is hidden to the right as you enter. No help yourself to copious quantities of booze I'm afraid. Though it must be said that Thai is usually very generous on board. Plenty of space. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Always luke warm and cold by the time you get back to the table and seat. Choice of food could be a lot better. Drinks of the soft variety seems to be fine. Noise is a problem. The lounge is open-plan and you hear all the chatter and announcements for flights etc inside the lounge. Very of putting if you want a restful period before flying. My flight was gated from the far end from the lounge and a 15 minute walk. After the walk, once again - the bus. Why I always seem to get a bus ride at BKK, I don't know. So we are driven to the cargo area of the airport all the way back past the lounge we have just spent 15 minutes walking from to catch the bus. No distinction made for business class passengers. Crammed into a bus where everyone stands unless you are a child and papa and momma, insist you have one of the handsful of seats. Never mind if you are 70+ and decrepit. If BKK is new to you, it's a large airport, plenty of empty high end shops, doing no business to show, and some fast food and Thai food outlets crammed at the far ends of the terminals with next to no seating for the thousands of people all wanting to eat the junk.

Suvarnabhumi is a very neat looking airport. Clean, Immigration and Baggage claim was quite fast compared to previous visits, however signs should be made better visible and more clear. Next to that, food is ok and not a lot of variety with shops. WiFi is working fine and plenty of seating areas in case you want to sit.

Absolutely great airport. From my accommodation in central Bangkok to the airport it took about 40 minutes using the BTS SkyTrain / Airport train, and it only cost about ?2! The airport has extremely good wifi and both check-in and security were lightning fast! Lounge and food services were also very good.

Check in was efficient and painless. Although well and truly over security checks by the time you get to the lounge. No opportunity to purchase water after check in at lounge. Tap water available so keep an empty water bottle to refill if you trust the tap for drinking water. Can buy bottled water after customs and immigration checks, but unable to take past security check at the gate lounge.
