New and extremely practical airport.
It's not far away from the city center and the bus linking the airport to the city it's really cheap.
The biggest drawback I see is the limited choice of shops/cafes in the terminal.
Now it's getting a lot of new routes and companies.

Being English, it was easy getting to the airport ( just got on the coach from hotel! ).
Lots of shops, and great view of apron which was busy in May. However, check-in was quite slow, and security too.

While the airport is good overall, be warned that in Malaga, there are passport checks after you pass through security and after the duty free, just before the gates. This can take some time to get through....

When arriving we don't use food and retail services so can't give 5 stars for this, nor do we use a lounge. Customs and baggage claim are fast and easy to get through....

Minimal facilities at the airport, and long waiting times for check-in. Not a lot of food restaurants, Burger King ran out of meat and a small food shop was full of flies! Very small airport, surrounded by mountains, always a shaky, turbulent approach, especially on a smaller plane (A319.) - Nice design terminal, though very basic! Only 12 gates and weather is always a bit bad! 1 shop, 1 rubbish cafe....
