The airport is a bit messy (especially the new babage pick-up at arrival), and since Lufthansa Group moved to the extreme side of T1 (and no longer T3), it becomes quite a walk (10mins) to the D-gates.
This being said, the airport is very easily reachable by train (Regional and Leonardo Express), Fast Lane at T1 (Alitalia) was indeed very fast, and the Star Alliance lounge at the airport is very comfortable, with a good drinks service.
